you are domestically inclined and will be happily married

ok got some catching up to do. I have sorted the means of doing so so hopefully there'll be something for you every other day.

sunday morning I went to SAM, the Seattle Art Museum, to see Kurt, an exhibition about Kurt Cobain. it included photos but mostly was work by artists who were inspired by Kurt and his music. I really like the slide show by the guy who went to Aberdeen, Kurt's home town, and took pictures and had them, and the artist's own music, on a continuous loop. if you think your hometown is bad, I'm surprised Kurt didn't shoot himself in the head long before he was famous. there was some Warhol next door which I took a brief look at. great art museum.

sunday night I went to see a recently reformed indie band who I listened to a lot in the early 90s - Pavement. they played a very cool old theatre called the Paramount. they played all the old faves and the near packed house loved it as did I. found my Canadian buddies there and after the show we went to a bar for a few cheap martinis.

monday was labor day and it was back to Bumbershoot bright and early so I could be sure to get in and get tickets for the comedy show I wanted to see. with that successfully achieved I went and got my Neko Case print. lucky last! as there wasn't anything I really wanted to see until around 6pm, and it being only 11ish I wandered down to the waterfront to take a look at SAM's Olympic Sculpture Park. it's free and is a cool way of using public art to make, what is otherwise a pretty desolate area, feel like someplace worth going to. i'm not sure what the intention was but I'm sure it could be found out by Googling it.

monday evening back at Bumbershoot and on the Starbucks Stage is Jenny (you know who I'm talking about Kelda) Lewis & Johnathan Rice, aka Jenny & Johnny. I know no one knows or cares but I enjoyed them until I had to race off for my comedy show which was headlined by (Remy in Ratatouille and Neal in The United States of Tara) the very funny, and very short, Patton Oswalt. he was preceded by other comedians I hadn't heard of but Doug Benson, and some guy who was very briefly in an episode of Weeds that I don't think has screened at home and whose name I thought was Andy Peppercorn but I'm not so sure now, and a he/she robot (what she said) named Tig Notaro who told a pretty hilarious story about Taylor Dane, were really good.
